Reviews for CheeKee Kopitiam Bentong 文冬枝記茶餐室
Review highlights
Based on 178 reviewsCheeKee Kopitiam Bentong 文冬枝記茶餐室 is widely appreciated for its consistently flavorful wanton mee, which stands out for its springy texture and distinct homemade quality. The kopitiam’s soup-based noodles, often complemented by radish broth, add a subtle sweetness that enhances the overall taste. Patrons frequently enjoy the crispy kaya butter croissants and traditional local beverages like kopi and teh tarik, which pair well with the dishes. The environment is noted as clean and newly renovated, contributing to a pleasant dining experience despite the often crowded and busy atmosphere. Some feedback highlights occasional service lapses during peak hours, but the generous portions and authentic flavors remain key draws for visitors.
This kopitiam always full of customers. Expect to wait for seats/table. The famous stall is wanton mee. And the other one is selling pork noodle but located at the back of the kopitiam. Ordered wanton mee noodle soup RM7.50 and add on 3 stuffed taufu pok. Wanton noodle seems like own made. Very nicr texture. Kopi is also good.
Place was packed when we visited on a Sat morning. Ordered Wanton Mee, Kaya toast, chicken feet & dumplings. Noodle was springy & char siew thinly sliced. Those who love fatty char siew please look away. Braised chicken feet never came & probably forgotten.
This is Chee Kee Kopitiam on the same row of Thong Kee Kopitiam Bentong. We actually wanted to dine in Thong Kee but most stalls already closed when we reached there after 2pm. This Kopitiam looks newly renovated. The wonton noodle is nice. Doink doink in texture. Soup based is raddish soup which give the soup a hint of sweetness. Tau fu pok is smooth smooth, filling is just nice in taste. It is a mixture of fish paste + chives. Pork balls are fresh and yummy too. The portion is big here. On a bonus side, we managed to taste the famous Chee cheong fun from the stall that is at the side of this restaurant. Love the cheong fun texture that has the QQ texture & smooth. The sauce is has a hint of saltiness and sweetness while the sambal has a hint of asamness in it. We were lucky to be able to buy it right before the stall closes. Drinks in the Kopitiam is so so only.
Wanton noodle is nice. Portion is huge. Don’t order large unless you are really hungry. Noodle comes with quite the lard aroma. Would be a plus if you like it. Kaya butter croissant is also nice. Served hot n crispy. Butter would melt in the mouth. Teh C is standard. Overall quite tasty. Shop is nice and clean.
Croissant with kaya butter is fragrant and crispy, wonderful with a black kopi or the white coffee. Wanton mee is nice too, with al dente noodles and a nice umami slight butter taste of the soya sauce.
